What in the literal $#@& were these guys thinking? As the story goes, 4 members of a Firefighters Committee in Cape Breton saw it fit to dress up as KKK members to attend a Halloween party recently. I’m no genius, but I’d like to know the thought process behind how these individuals thought this was going to end well.
It’s 2024 people! This is not the 1950s for heaven’s sake. It wasn’t even acceptable back then, but Neurons weren’t the strong suit of Racists in the 1950s nor is it any better in 2024 apparently! I’d be less bothered by it, but having been born and raised in a small community on the NE coast of NL, this kind of stupidity is what gives rural Canadians a bad name. How do you think big city folk view this kind of stuff? I can tell you right now they are probably thinking “there goes the ignorant rednecks again” !
The moral of this story is if you think up something this dumb, do it in the privacy of your own home. Don’t put it on public display so it becomes a major story city folk will write about. They spend enough time making fun of rural Canadians as it is. They don’t need your help!
