The Bennington Triangle
The Murder of the Black Dahlia (Elizabeth Short)
The infamous Black Dahlia case remains one of the most puzzling and high-profile unsolved murders in US history. The year was 1947, and Elizabeth Short (The Black Dahlia) was an aspiring actress in Los Angeles. One particular evening she was found having been brutally murdered. Her wrists were cut, and she was drained of blood. Investigators did not believe these wounds were self-inflicted, as the room showed signs of a gruesome and calculated act. Despite a thorough investigation, no suspect was ever found, and the identity of the murderer remains a mystery to this day.
The Mystery of D.B. Cooper
One of the most famous unsolved mysteries of all time is the story of D.B. Cooper. He hijacked Northwest Orient Airlines Flight 305, a Boeing 727 aircraft, in United States airspace on November 24, 1971. He then extorted $200,000 in ransom and parachuted out of the plane into the wilderness. Cooper disappeared without a trace. There was an extensive investigation, but Cooper was never found. To this day, Cooper has never been seen, and the money has never been fully recovered. There is speculation that he may have died in the jump, but others believe he managed to escape and live a secret life.
