The past several years have been fascinating with regard to the world of UAPs or Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (formerly known as UFO). There is a growing movement calling for full disclosure. Many former military and other government officials have come forward with claims that the government is keeping from the public what they know about UAP phenomena. Though much of what is seen in our skies can be explained, many things defy all logic, with maneuvering capability far beyond anything manmade.
In the 1940s and 1950s, the US government did such a great job of discrediting witness reports that the phrase UFO became synonymous with being a crazy person. Only a fraction of what people have seen or are seeing have been reported for that reason. In more recent years, some government officials have become interested in acquiring more information on the subject. It was felt that due to the stigma attached to the phrase UFO, a new phrase was needed, hence the term UAP was coined.
What would one call a UAP you might ask? Essentially any object seen in the upper atmosphere, sky or in the water that cannot be identified as organic life or manmade. The word anomalous is now used because many of the unidentified objects that have been reported appear to be able to move from one medium to another while not hindering their movements. These objects also appear to not disturb the air or make a splash when they move from the sky into the water, for example.
Many UAPs that have been reported have turned out to be explainable. They have been identified as commercial aircraft, weather ballons, inflatable helium ballons, falling space debris, meteors, drones and the list goes on and on. Some however, cannot be explained. They maneuver at such great speeds without making a sound. They can make 90 degree turns without slowing down. They have no visible signs of propulsion, and appear to not disturb the medium in which they are traveling through, whether it be space, air or water.
In 2022, the Canadian Government launched the Sky Canada Project. The goal of this initiative was to create a structured method of researching, managing, and identifying UAPs. In addition, they wanted improve transparency between civilians and the government.
Though there has been some movement toward full disclosure, there are still those within government, particularly in the US, who are actively blocking access to such information. These people have even refused to disclose to Congress (in the US) what they know, citing a risk to national security.
Currently I am working on a research project of my own on the UAP topic. I’m interested in speaking with anyone who has seen, or believes they’ve seen, something unexplainable in the sky or near water. No judgement, I just want to hear your stories.
