I was just doing my nightly routine, checking my email and visiting Facebook, when I came across an article posted on Facebook titled (click on the following link to read the article) The 20 Most Underrated Places In Canada, According To Canadians. It’s a great article that mentions some great places in Canada to visit. One place in particular caught my eye though, Twillingate, NL.
The article really got me to thinking about what makes a place great. The more I thought about it, the more I had to agree with Twillingate being on that list. Twillingate is one of the most scenic areas in the province, and boasts of its natural beauty as well as its unique culture and way of life.
Now not to say I’m not a bit bias here, but I love Twillingate. Often on the world stage, it is referred to as iceberg alley. Twillingate has one of the biggest festivals in the province, the Fish, Fun and Folk Festival. Some of the highest winds in the province (second only to the Wreckhouse) have been recorded at Long Point. One of the best Chinese restaurants in Newfoundland is also in Twillingate, the Golden Restaurant. Of course, what outport community in Newfoundland could be complete without a Mary Brown’s.

Twillingate is one awesome place. I love visiting, and couldn’t be more proud to call it home. If you haven’t been there already, mark it on your list of places to visit. You won’t regret it.
The more I hear you talk about this place, the more I want to visit it! It sounds like an absolutely amazing place.
